I'm not a huge fan of text on tshirts.. I've seen some really tacky slogans printed on a shirt.

But this top made me laugh out loud.

They say change is as good as a holiday; And even though there's been plenty of change in my life recently, I have found myself considering yet more change. Of the hairstyle variety.

The urge to dramatically change my hair is regular and persistent. And then it passes and I move onto something else.

Late last year, I bleached my hair from dark brown to blonde on a whim.

And can I say - I actually don't think blondes have more fun....

Since bleaching my hair, it has been unhealthy and dry and sad and now I am facing a new challenge -

To chop; or not to chop.

I've turned to Pinterest for some hairspiration.

All beautiful girls with such stylish short hair.

And yet, I have been staring at these photos for days and still can't commit to making a hair appointment!

Maybe next week?!

The Day I Became A Hipster

In the past, I have been referred to as a Corporate Barbie; and a 1950's Housewife.

But yesterday I became a hipster.

I drew my inspiration from the below images; then took the plunge last week and ordered a new pair of glasses.

I picked them up yesterday and became an instant hipster.. EEK!!!

And they don't count as a June purchase.. Coz I paid for them last week when it was still May!

The Latest in Canine Fashion

The clouds have descended and the rain is relentless.

Summer is officially a distant memory and already it is a struggle to get out of my warm bed in the morning.

Luckily (although sometimes it doesn't feel like it) there's a certain look Miss Emmy can give me that not only convinces me to get up but also brave the outdoors. brrrr!

On a morning walk this week, I realised the inequality in our relationship - she wears a raincoat and gets to go back to bed when we get home.

It' a tough life for a spoilt pooch!!

Think it's going to be a looooong winter.

Having gone through the process of changing my name back to it's original form in the past 12 months ('maiden name' sounds old and stuffy) I was impressed beyond words at the gift I received from The Lady P for my birthday.

Gold Monogram Necklace

More than just a gift - this necklace is a symbol of my identity. 

Yep... I just went there. Gettin all emotional and stuff.

And even more exciting is that it is the same necklace that the ever flawless Bee wears on her blog which I stalk follow.

Look at that - This necklace works with practically any outfit.

It's Barbie, B!tch

Let me set a scene for you - -
Friday's in the office.

A day notorious for being a little more casual than the rest of the week (in attire; and sometimes attitude..)

But this did not soften the blow of a snide remark a colleague directed at me last week in regards to my choice of outfit for the day (for the record, it was a stripey sweater and black pants - this was hardly the scandalous tracksuit pant/sneaker scenario her comments implied).

Friday Attire = Casual Chic

Perhaps I wasn't busy enough on the weekend; because I managed to stew on this topic for 2 full days.


Insert renewed focus on my office wardrobe.

This may require some shopping.

I think that's a small (or maybe not so small) price to pay.

It's taken me by surprise. And I am head over heels.

PJ's as Daywear

I love my pajama's. 

L-O-V-E them.

I am known for coming home from work and putting them on straight away. Infact, when I was in school, I did the same thing, even if my day finished at 2.15pm. 

So, you'd think I'd be excited about the news that PJ's are IN. Celebs are wearing them on the red carpet and apparently it's now socially acceptable to wear them to your local pub for a glass of vino.

Ummm... I don't think I'm entirely onboard with this trend.

Sure it means that at the end of the night I don't have to fuss with difficult zips on dresses, I can simply kick off my heals (because ladies - you still wear heals with your pj's) and crawl into bed.. But seriously?!

If nothing else, the story in today's Advertiser has me inspired to invest in some new pj's (although you don't ever need an excuse). Not because I want to flaunt them around town on a night out, but because they'll make me look amazing when I'm curled up on the couch at the end of a long day (probably drinking a sneaky vino...)

My Style : Sea, Sun, Stripes

Loving Summer Holidays... I've been dreaming of the sun and the sea for weeks.

I've also been dreaming about summer fashion.

I'm currently embracing all things nautical - I've noticed navy and white striped dresses, tank tops, bikinis, hats and jewellery creeping into my wardrobe.

This polyvore board is inspired by the many new additions to my clothing collection, specifically a cute pair of tan platforms which I've now worn three days in a row...

I'm now looking forward to the warmer weather that's forecast for the end of the week so that I can spend some quality time in the sun at the beach.

Feeling {Patent} Blue

OK.. I admit it - I've lost some of that positive energy I summoned during my smudging ritual.

In fact, this week has felt like an absolute drag.

Perhaps it's because the weather has been so uncertain (sunny one minute and pouring the next) or maybe it's because I'm just not feeling 100% as yet another nasty bug tests out my immune system. Whatever the reason, I decided to put my best foot forward today to lift my spirits and end my week with a little *POP* of colour.

Enter my awesome new shoes (which admittedly, looked MUCH better without stockings but it was just tooo cold to step outside today with bare legs.  p.s. this is a huge disappointment given I got myself a spray tan on Wednesday night)

 Anyway.. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Marilyn Monroe was a wise woman.

Thank goodness for the long weekend.

Thou Can't Help But Covet...

I bought a fancy camera last year.

It was a birthday present for myself.

..In November..

I played with it on automatic a little bit and vowed to do a photography course, but 10 months later I'm no closer to becoming a pro.. (It's on my list of things to do, promise).

Anyway... Miss Jodie recently introduced me to Sydney of The Daybook.

And I have been absorbed in her blog of witty writing and stylish fashion ever since.

Then I saw this photo.. And noticed THAT bag.

It's a camera bag.

Sydney does photography.

So it would make sense that she carries her camera in a cute camera bag, right?

But have you EVER seen a camera bag THIS amazing ?!

It's enough to make me grab my camera and get inspired again.

So imagine my disappointment when I discovered that THEIT only ship to USA or Canada.

Surely I can find a site to buy it from online ?
