the power of the moon

Let me just start by saying - I'm not one of those people..

You know the kind of person who asks what star sign you are;
and then reacts to your response with an - 'oooohh.. yes, that explains XYZ'.

For the record - I'm a Scorpio; and I'm stubborn.

Are the two intrinsically linked?

I have no idea.

I also don't know which sign you are based on your birthday;
If you're an air or water sign;
Or you which traits are associated with Capricorns.

I wish I did.

And one day I might read those astrology books collected dust on my bookshelf;
But for now, I look to my good friend Google to provide the answers.

And so, when I heard that today - 20 March 2015 - is one of the
M O S T   P O W E R F U L   D A Y S
of the year, I turned to said internet-BFF, to provide me with the answers.

And because I assume you're not one of those people either, I imagine you don't understand what it means that the New Moon/Solar Eclipse is in Pisces at 29 degrees...

So, let me break it down for you -

W H A T ' S   T H E   D E A L ?
A New Moon; and
A Total Solar Eclipse; and
An Equinox

W H E N ?
Tonight at 7.37PM AEST

S O   W H A T ?
Each of these celestial events is said to be 'kind of a big deal' on their own.

So when combined - in an Epic Trilogy of Awesome - this creates very powerful shifts for our personal and collective transformations; and marks the time for breakthroughs.

If you've been looking for a change - The universe is about to deliver.

It is a profound time for new beginnings, for letting go of what no longer serves us, and embarking on new exciting journeys.

Think of this time as an opportunity to 'reset'; to be courageous; to take action on your inspiration.

The Super Moon is known to amplify feelings and emotions.

The Total Solar Eclipse symbolises potent new beginnings.

An Equinox allows strong creative energy.

Pay attention tonight and notice if your awareness is heightened;
or you discover you're experiencing a number of 'Aha!' moments in the coming days.

Or at the very least, do me a favour -
Go outside;
Take a deep breath in;
Look up at the sky;
Admire the beauty of the night;
And take a moment to be grateful for something.
Anything.

why i read my horoscope daily

I think horoscopes are one of those things that you're either into, or you're not.

Much like sports, or animals, or tequila, they are either part of your life, or you have zero interest.

I like them.

I like that it's referred to as the 'Science of the Stars'

I like having the option to blame my crappy day on unfortunate planetary alignment

I like to believe in fate rather than coincidence

I like the concept of a crystal ball foreseeing my future

I like that for one moment, in a world where I like to be truly certain and always know the answer to the question before I ask it, I can put my faith in the complete unknown.

Don't get me wrong - I don't necessarily believe my horoscope 100% of the time.

I just like the idea.

OK, let's be honest - I like the idea today.

I like that my mind has the power to turn a vague generalisation into a wild possibility

Because today, I am told -

You can't just do what you have always done. Well, you can - there is no law against it. But if you want to grow, to explore, to discover, to awaken your potential and to embrace all the marvellous opportunities life has to offer you, that may first require learning to look at the past with fresh eyes. It may also be necessary to find a willingness to innovate. The familiar is always reassuring. The new is always scary. Summon your courage and step into the unknown today. The time will soon be right for a brave move.

Today, I like that optimism. That opportunity. That glimmer of hope that if I take a leap of faith, everything will be OK.

I Am Where I Should Be

Today's horoscope provided by news.com.au resonated with me..

You are doing something incredible. How could anyone else on this entire planet take on what you have taken on? How would they handle such a unique set of circumstances? You think they wouldn't find them exhausting too? Do you imagine that somehow, they would make a better job of it than you? Don't kid yourself. You are brave and brilliant. You are struggling... and you are surviving! Never mind the odd step back that you must inevitably keep taking; what is impressive are the many steps you have already made.

Perfect timing for me to remind myself that everything happens for a reason.

Love a good outlook

We know I love a good horoscope.. and today's seems appropriate -

You are short of something you need. That's why you feel overwhelmed. You've got too much of something you could do with less of. Like pressure. And responsibility. For a while your life has resembled a soap opera. Now it is beginning to get more like a Victorian melodrama. Everything is larger than life. Everyone is going over the top. Exaggerated reactions are eroding your sense of perspective. Yet you are moving away from a situation that has been too much - towards a new arrangement that will be 'just right'.

The Cheshire Cat Says...

'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'

'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.

'I don't much care where,' said Alice.

'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.'

More, today, from Lewis Carroll's classic. I quote it because you do know where you want to get to. You need, therefore, to be careful who you ask. Too much advice is given on the Cheshire Cat's premise. You can talk to someone, this weekend, who understands what's needed in your particular situation. That will help more than you yet know.

That's my horoscope for today, courtesy of AdelaideNow..

Amused me so much that I had to share it with you all.

There's nothing more entertaining on a Friday afternoon than a horoscopes entwined with a classic childrens story.

Cookie Knows Best

I caught up with a friend from uni last night and because I was feeling too lazy to be a good host, we ordered chinese take away.

Along with our fried rice, sweet and sour pork and vegies in oyster sauce, we also ordered a bag of fortune cookies.

I decided that the first fortune you choose from the bag is the one that is 'meant' for you. Because by the end of the night, there were no cookies left. We ate the WHOLE bag. Don't judge me.

Anyway, with my first cookie I put my future into the hands of the Fortune Cookie Gods and Goddesses.

Look for new horizons

What a smart cookie.

Believe me - I am looking.

It's In The Stars

I'm not the kind of person who can judge someone's personality by their star sign. But since getting my iphone, it has become something of a morning habit to open my Horoscopes App and reac what the day entails before getting out of bed.

Today's Lovescope ?

This seems like a week for breakups instead of hookups. Maybe you're angry with someone. Maybe his or her way is wrong for you. Don't take it personally if minds or actions change. Don't lash out if you weren't meant for each other. Take time alone and make peace with yourself. Once you calm your thinking and feelings, it will be easier to find someone who wants to be with you - and you want to be with.

Looks like the stars have much better plans for me than I could have ever dreamt of.

And now I'm off to Sydney for a much needed get away.  Happy weekend.
